Have you heard? Pantone’s Color of the Year is (drumroll please) greenery! Greenery is a timeless, elegant color that would be perfect for a variety of themes. From whimsical to vintage, to elegant, to boho inspired and even to minimalist weddings. Pantone describes the color as a “fresh and zesty yellow-green shade that evokes the first days of Spring when nature’s greens revive, restore and renew.” Another huge advantage to selecting greenery as your wedding color? The cost. Greenery and leaves are more cost efficient than flowers or blooms. That was you can save a lot on your floral budget.
Today, we are so excited to share one of our minimalist weddings which is poetic that just as Spring brings new life — the wedding day of Clarissa and Kevin is the start of their new life. Let’s dive into the ultimate guide to a Minimalist Greenery Wedding!
How to Plan the Minimalist Greenery Pantone Wedding of Your Dreams
In case you’re not familiar with Pantone, they are the leading authority on color in the industries of graphics, printing, interior design, fashion, and more.
In 1963 their founder, Lawrence Herbert, invented a color identification and matching system that became the cross-industry standard for color communication. Now, over six and a half decades later, they are still the world leader in color trends. Every year, they announce the Color of the Year and designers, graphic artists, and brides alike anticipate then jump for joy at the news.
Here are some ways on how you can incorporate greenery into your minimalist Pantone wedding.
Minimalist Attire
We have to start with the Bride! The wedding dress is one of the most important part of your big day. You can’t go wrong selecting one that is flattering and timeless. We simply loved Clarissa’s wedding gown! It was form fitting with just the right amount of lace. Her bridesmaids wore gray dresses offering the clean and simple canvas for their white and green bouquets.
Only the other hand, Kevin and his groomsmen wore slim black tuxedos. The green boutonnieres added the perfect pop of color to complete their dapper look.
Flourishing Foliage
Let the foliage take center stage and have flowers serve as supporting roles.
Greenery like lemon leaf, eucalyptus, olive tree branches, ferns, and succulents are all excellent ways to express the color of the year in every aspect of your wedding. Use foliage in your bouquet, elegant centerpieces, as table runners, boutonnieres, cake decoration or a beautiful arbor as the backdrop of your vows.
White or colored flowers can be incorporated as much or as little as you see fit. An experienced floral designer will be a great guide in creating arrangements to match your overall theme.
Printed Materials
Save the dates, invitations, RSVP cards, table number cards, thank you notes…there are so many opportunities to show off your greenery Pantone wedding theme! Selecting the perfect stationery is key as it is the first thing that will set the overall tone of your wedding celebrations to your guests. You can use the color as the font, as a beautiful foliage decoration, as the color of the cardstock itself; the possibilities are endless.
Accessories
Greenery is easily incorporated into a beautiful leafy hair accessory, stunning emerald earrings, your nail color, party favors and more. Don’t forget the flower girl! Foliage makes for an excellent “flower” crown and can replace or be added to the flower petals traditionally dropped before the bride’s the bride walks down the aisle.
